The simplest way to get past blocking software is to use a Proxy, or
Circumventor website. Basically once you find a page to use, it comes
up with a form. Type in where you want to go and it will take you
there. Usually these sites are blocked, because they are a well-known
way of bypassing blocking software.
Some examples of proxy websites are:
www.stupidcensorship.com
www.kproxy.com
www.megaproxy.com
(just click "Try It Free").
www.anonymizer.com
- look in the top right corner for the form.
www.hidemyass.com
If KProxy. Megaproxy, or StupidCensorship are blocked you might want to try https://www.kproxy.com
, https://www.megaproxy.com or https://www.stupidcensorship.com
(note the https:// , it's important).
The https:// on the beginning leads to the secure version of the site.
Sometimes if the regular website is blocked the secure one isn't, as
it's harder for most blocking software to block https:// sites.
Project BlockerBuster has 2 of it's own proxies, which can be accessed from the homepage. There is a CGI Proxy and a PHProxy, and both are HTTPS enabled (meaning you can access then via https:// if you wish).
A good way to find proxies is using a search engine. Try searches such as proxy, CGI proxy, PHProxy. There's a lot of search terms you can try.
When using a proxy, surfing will typically be slower than normal, so be
patient.
A Proxy is a server that stands between you and the rest of the
internet.
Normally, when you access a website, you send requests for data
directly to that website's server, and download information, images,
etc., from there.
When you use a proxy, the requests are sent to the proxy server, then
the proxy sends the requests to the website, and download the
information, and then sends it to you, at which point you download the
information from the proxy server.
This picture may help to explain it:

This way, when a blocker program looks at what you're accessing, it
looks like you're only using the one proxy website no matter where you
go.
The proxy website, therefore, must not be blocked for this to work, and
it will be slower.
